About the Program
As part of the curriculum of this school year, all students at Blessed Sacrament are participating in the Performing Arts Residency program with Stages on the Sound.
The Residency program provides opportunities for all students to attend original productions, a Shakespeare play and other special events throughout the school year to engage students creativity and imagination.
Also, Teaching Artists from Stages on the Sound will teach students in grades 4, 6 and 8 over a 15 week period from October until March, culminating a final presentation of the students work.
- 4th grade will be working on stop-motion animation films
- 6th grade will be writing their own plays to be performed
- 8th grade will be studying and acting the works of William Shakespeare
Through the year, we will provide lesson plans and discussion starters for parents and teachers as well as information on upcoming performances that the students are attending as well as details on the final performance.
Christmas Play 2016
As part of the residency, all students in Grades 1-5 will attend a performance of the original Christmas play, Good King Wenceslas. Check back for more info soon.
Shakespeare in Action
Students in Grades 6-8 will be attending an Introduction to Shakespeare play at the school. This zany play grabs the attention of students and gets them
excited about the works of William Shakespeare.
We at Stages are thrilled to be a part of the Blessed Sacrament community and we look forward to working with you to bring the arts to all students.
