Stages On The Sound is getting ready for the 2023-24 school year!

The Stages’ Arts Residency provides exceptional, professional artists to your school or academy. Our team of teaching artists are trained, master’s-degree level theatre arts educators, most of whom have been working in the New York City for years. The STAGES' coursework follows curriculum standards set forth for by the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards for Theater and ELA.

We will be offering THREE different residencies- a FALL, SPRING, and FULL YEAR residency.

The Twelve-Week Fall Residency and Twelve-Week Spring Residency will culminate in a final performance for each class, where students will share the work that they have been studying. Their families, teachers, and classmates will be invited to watch as students perform scenes from Shakespeare, full plays that they wrote themselves, short films that they have created, or a plethora of other performance options. The Full Year Residency will culminate in the multi-school Stages’ Performing Arts Festival with your school joining other schools in the Stages community to share their productions, films, and scenes in a celebration of the performing arts!  Residencies have the same course structure as previous years, where we introduce and learn skills and then apply them to our final presentations.

  • Teaching artists will be assigned to your school/academy. They will come to your school/academy one day per week, on a day that is best for you.

  • The teaching artist will meet with each of the three or more sections for one class period of 45-55 minutes.

  • Each curricula moves from teaching concepts to their application in a production. Every age grouping has a unique focus and will result in a project-based culminating activity.
