Crossings Title

Stages on the Sound is pleased to present Crossings as part of the 13th annual New York International Fringe Festival-FringeNYC. Crossings is a collaborative new play based on real life interviews of NYC's newest immigrant neighbors. In 2007, the STAGES company began interviewing immigrant residents with the aid of the Brooklyn Diocese in the hopes of creating a project that would both honor those who have journeyed here from distant lands and enlighten others on their experiences.

Crossings will be performed at venue #1 CSV Cultural and Educational Center Flamboyan 107 Suffolk Street NY, NY 10002. Show dates and times: 8/14 5-6pm, 8/14 6pm talkback, 8/15 3:45-4:45pm, 8/15 10:45-11:45pm, 8/20 9:30-10:30pm, 8/23 8:30pm for tickets go to fringenyc.org on sale July 24th!

Stages on the Sound believes in the unique communion between audience and performer that only live theatre can achieve.  Through dynamic productions, innovative community outreach, long-term educational partnerships and our global artist exchange, we seek to transform and enrich the surrounding Brooklyn community and celebrate the diverse multicultural heritage of the greater New York area.

Over the winter, Crossings was invited to perform in the Close Strangers Festival at Teatr Polski in Poznan, Poland. Click here to learn more about the cast of Crossings and view pictures of the production.

Crossings

Based on interviews of recent immigrants, Crossings is a glimpse of the modern journey of our newest neighbors in the City of New York.

Mateusz Tlok from Nowa Sila Krytyczna:

“Crossings” tells the story of immigrants in a new country -- their hopes and fears, barriers and differences, in a straightforward and well-understood way. The play was interesting and enchanting.
